Maharaja Amar Singh

Established by Maharaja Amar Singh in 1673,
the fort was a royal residence in the
Khatoli-Kotah region in Rajasthan

Built in the last quarter of the 17th Century over almost 10000 SqMs.
Kila Khatoli is a classic example of Medieval Rajput Architecture, with an extravagant exuberance of massed Chambers & Corridors, Halls & Courtyards, Terraces & Jharokhas (window-balconies),Almost all with sensational stunning views of the River Parvati as it slowly glistens, right to left, across the great bow-like bastions below. Indeed, in the monsoon, as water levels rise, the private ghats (steps) slip under sight. Once a semi-independent fiefdom between the great kingdoms of Jaipur, Kota & Bundi Khatoli is today strategically poised on the border between the States of Rajasthan & Madhya Pradesh.
